Escrow funds from expired offer

Hi, so I had posted a job listing and was in communication with an individual, I pressed "hire" and it asked me to put funds in escrow, so I did - but then it didn't work out and the offer expired. What happened to my funds? Are they still in my account somewhere? 

Can I use them for a new person? thanks

They are already on their way back to your payment method. Give it a couple of days.
