First time client mistakenly suspended for "breach of terms and conditions"

I'm a first time user, and posted a job seeking a writer for a romance novel with erotic undertones (think 50 shades of grey but much less explicit and more about the romance), and was in the process of reviewing proposals when Upwork suspended my account wihtout notice for breach of service (the reason given was in relation to explicit and pornographic content and/or sexual exploitation).

However, I have seen many succsessful jobs on upwork which also were seeking writers for "steamy romance novels" without any problem.

I am wondering if my choice of the word  "erotica" in romance/erotica may have been the issue?

I have responded to Upwork, explaining the situation and am yet to have had the issue resolved by Upwork, and am wondering how to escalate my request to have my account reinstated immediately, as I am trying to run a business through this service.

Not a happy first time user unfortunately...

Anything even remotely "adult" is not allowed on Upwork.

Basically, what goes beyond a kiss and a cuddle is officially off the menu.

That's a bit like telling a police officer who clocked you for speeding that others were driving even faster... Not everyone is caught.

If your material contains "adult" scenes, you won't be running a business via Upwork.

Thanks for your speedy response Petra,

I should have paid closer attention to the terms and conditions as I didn't realise the platform was so strict around such things.

Cheers.
