Former client (from outside Upwork) never received my testimonial invitation

Having no site specific testimonials, I invited a former client to make one on a recent project.  Despite filling in all the information, including Linkedin, she never received my testimonial request (it shows as awaiting resonse). Can someone assist me? It is very hard to get projects on Upwork with no testimonials.

I have same issue I have sent invitations to two former clients but they are saying they never received it. They checked their emails inbox, spam. one of them is saying he neither got spam not upwork notification as now he has upwork account as well. is there any delay due to which sent invitaions are pending or in process?

and after sending invitaion in how much time client will receive that?
