Hello Andrea I joined upwork about 2 or 3 month back haven't landed with any job. Approached to a lot of clients out there but I got nothing could you tell me if there is anything wrong with my profile https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~01ec635fb3dbd38adc
Jul 20, 2023 04:43:33 AM by Clark S
Hello Dushyant,
Andrea is an Upwork Moderator. The moderators provide valuable information to freelancers and moderate the Forums, but they do not provide profile reviews.
I looked at your profile and everything looks fine. The only suggestion I have is to add two important skill categories to your skills list: Graphic Design and Image Editing. You should also consider changing your title to include those skill categories: Graphic Designer | Image Editing | Photo Editing or Graphic Design & Image Editing. Doing so will match keywords in your title, summary, and skills list.
Everything else in your profile looks fine.
Winning jobs has been a challenge for many freelancers lately. Keep applying for jobs that match your qualifications/skills by writing great cover letters and hopefully you will win jobs soon.
Good luck!

Hello, Upwork community, please check my profile. If, I have any fault, Please tell me
Jul 20, 2023 04:50:40 AM by Clark S
Hello Bouderbala,
If you are using the same picture for your profile photo, you should change it. The picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face, without sunglasses. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.
Your profile is set to private. You must set your profile to Public so we can see it.

Hello Taraneh,
I looked through your profile and it looks good. I have a few suggestions that might help improve it.
Title: I like your title, but you should capitalize the first letter of each word to help it stand out. I would also change the word "customized" to "custom": Interior Designer | Set Designer, Sustainable Design, Custom Design.
Overview/Summary: Remove the word "PROFILE" from the first line of your summary. I recommend this because the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. You want the first two sentences to be impactful, and you do not want to waste space with unnecessary words.
For the rest of your summary, I think you should tell clients more about how you can help them. The easiest way to do that is to revise your "experience" by telling clients what you can do for them. Then, add more substance for clients to better understand how your services will benefit them. Clients are looking for results, so you must show them what you can do and how it can meet their needs. For example:
I am an expert Interior Designer with 10 years of experience visualizing unique spaces and using 3D visualization, rendering and modeling for residential and commercial projects. I can work on a wide range of projects from luxury residential and hotels to single-family houses and high concept experiments. I manage the entire design and development project through space planning and custom-made object design.
My clients' projects and their satisfaction are my biggest priorities and I can help bring your vision to reality by developing a clean, vibrant design. I can lead design teams to deliver agreed-upon solutions of the highest quality successfully, and often in complex and challenging environments.
What can you expect? Your design project will include the development of photorealistic 3D renders, 3D animation for broader concepts, and the creation of high-quality CAD drawings to give you a full picture of your design before it is implemented.
I am truly committed to exceptional interior design and focused on accuracy and precision for every project I undertake. Reliable communications are important during the work process and assure you that I am respectful of my client's schedules and deadlines.
Let's talk about your design needs and how I can help. |
You do not have to use this word-for-word, but this is the general idea. Tell clients what you can do so they better understand why they should hire you.
The other areas of your profile look good. After you make the suggested updates, I think clients will have a better understanding of the services you offer and how you can help meet their needs or solve their problems.
Good luck!

Hello Sharmake,
There is nothing wrong with your profile. Most freelancers are finding it difficult to win jobs these days since competition is so fierce.
I see a few things in your profile I would update:
Photo: You should highly consider changing your profile photo. The picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.
Portfolio: Add a few more items to your portfolio. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression and I think potential clients will expect to see more from a full-stack developer.
Skills: You should add Full-Stack Development as a skill category. You mention full-stack development in your title and summary, so you should also include it in your skills list. It is important to keep your skills list updated with relevant skills categories so that Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and so your profile will appear when clients search for your skills.
Employment History: Add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. Believe it or not, the jobs and their descriptions also help match you with relevant jobs and searches.
The other areas of your profile look good.

Greetings to all my friends,
I'm a WordPress developer, and this is my Upwork profile:
Jul 20, 2023 07:38:59 AM by Clark S
Idris,
I think your profile looks fine. Your overview/summary is quite long and most clients will probably not read it all. As long as your most important information is near the top, it should be fine.
The other areas of your profile look good. I do not see any problems or issues that would prevent a client from hiring you.

Hello Upwork community. I'm a struggling writer on Upwork. I have been trying to get projects but it's a waste. Can you please help me in upgrading my profile and giving me tips on how to earn clients. Here is my profile link.
Jul 20, 2023 07:58:23 AM by Clark S
Hello Warda,
You have good information in your profile, but I have a few suggestions:
Title: I think your title needs to be more specific, but without the extraneous words. For example, I think clients will be more attracted to: Medical Doctor | Content Writing, SEO Writing and Editing.
Overview/Summary: Your summary is okay, but I think it needs to give clients more information about the writing you can do and how it will help them. Clients on Upwork are looking for results, so your summary should tell them what you can do and how it benefits them.
To do this, you should move the last sentence towards the top of your summary. Why? Because the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. You have a very small window of opportunity to grab their attention, so you want to say something about meeting the client's goals.
I would move the last sentence up and revise a few other words to make your summary sound more client-focused. For example:
I am a medical doctor with a passion and knack for writing original, well-researched and highly effective medical content. I can write medical articles, healthcare content for journals, fiction, medical write-ups, research documents, case studies and product descriptions.
I am well-organized, focused, resourceful, and have a genuine interest in helping my clients create quality written material. I have been highly successful due to my reliability, professionalism, and dedication to quality medical writing, and your satisfaction comes first.
I don't sell services--I brew the requirements of my clients into a concoction of excellence and contentment! Time management and a clear communication are ground rules, and I will work with you to ensure your finished product is accurate, persuavive, and engaging for your readers.
Let's discuss your needs. I am excited to collaborate with you and create something amazing! |
Portfolio: I think you should add one or two more writing samples to your portfolio. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression and clients might expect more examples from a writer.
Project Catalog: You should also consider adding a project catalog. The project catalog allows you to setup a pre-packaged service that clients can buy without you sending a proposal. Due to higher than usual requests for project catalogs, reviews and approvals are taking a minimum of 10 business days. Read Get Started With Project Catalog for more information.
Once you make these updates, I think clients will have a better understanding of how you can help meet their needs or solve their problems.

Hi UpWork Community, please take a look at my profile - https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/satakshigarg and feel free to share all your valuable feedbacks !! I am looking forward to contributing to this community more.

Hi Satakshi,
The first thing I noticed about your profile is the length of your overview/summary. It is quite long and most clients will never read most of it. Also, it is important to remember that the first two sentences of your summary are the first thing the client sees when searching. The idea is to make the first two sentences impactful so clients are enticed to click read more, and hire you.
So, the first thing a client sees is this:
"Education: Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology."
The question becomes, is this enough to convince the client that you are the best developer/programmer to help meet their needs? Will this convince them to click and read the other great information you have in your profile?
My suggestion is to start your summary with something simple, but meaningful. Something like:
Highly skilled and versatile developer and programmer with expertise in programming, machine learning, DevOps, cloud computing, and community development. I solve problems by building the applications my clients need to automate repetitive tasks, improve business functions, and increase efficiency.
(After this, I suggest rearranging the remaining sections in the following order: Achievements, Experience, Skills, Education.) |
Since you have them in your title, you might want to add Trello and Notion as skill categories to your skills list.
The other areas of your profile look good.

I'll work on it.

I am new to upwork and struggling to get any work. I would love to have someone take a look at my profile and give me some suggestions for improvement. Thanks! https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~019bd719dd6d49cbb7
Jul 20, 2023 09:16:39 AM by Clark S
Adriane,
Welcome to Upwork.
Many freelancers are struggling to find work these days. Competition is fierce since there are more freelancers than jobs available.
I looked through your profile and noticed a few things. Your overview/summary contains good information, but I would probably avoid mentioning the supplement of income. Even though most clients know that many freelancers often work other jobs, clients are more concerned about your skills and expertise and how that benefits them.
Also, I would focus on the first two sentences of your summary. Why? Because the first two sentences are shown to clients when they search for freelancers and you have a very small window of opportunity to grab their attention. Clients care about results, so you need to tell them--within those first two sentences--what you can do for them.
To do that, I would add more substance that tells prospective clients what you can proofread. Then, I would add spaces to create paragraphs so it's easier to read. Together, maybe something like this:
I am a teacher with 21 years of experience helping students proofread term papers, compositions, and various types of school related documents. I can help students, profesisionals and businesses proofread and edit academic papers, websites, social media posts, landing pages, blog articles, and e-books. I also proofread marketing collateral, email marketing campaigns, newsletters, lead generation material, and press releases.
I have an eye for detail and a strong command of the English language. I am adept at identifying and correcting errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting. This makes me an excellent choice for your proofreading needs!
If you need an expert to thoroughly review your content and offer suggestions on creating better flow, correcting grammar and poor word choice, improving messaging, and fixing unnatural phrasing and bad or unusual structure, let's discuss your needs and how I can help. |
You don't have to use what I wrote verbatim, but you get the idea. Tell clients what you can do with concrete examples.
In addition to your summary, you should add a portfolio. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.
I think the other areas of your profile look great. Keep applying to jobs by writing great cover letters and hopefully you will win some cool jobs soon.
Good luck!

Hello Sagar,
I think your hourly rate is quite low for a mobile app/game developer. Clients might see a low rate as low quality, and avoid hiring you.
Your overview/summary uses "we" instead of "I." Most clients are expecting to hire a freelancer instead of a team. If you manage a team of freelancers, you should consider Creating an Agency.
For your portfolio, be sure to add skill categories to each item. In addition to your skills list, the skill categories in your portfolilo help clients find you when they search for your specific skills, and helps Upwork’s matching algorithms better match you with relevant jobs.
The other areas of your profile look good.

Hello Upwork community, I'm new here so it would be much appreciated if you can take a look at my profile .. any thoughts and critics ?
Jul 20, 2023 09:31:16 AM by Clark S
Hello Yarob,
Your overview/summary contains good information, but some of it might not be necessary. Unless you can tell clients how being trilingual and a great touch typist will benefit them, it may not mean much to them.
You definitely need to add a portfolio because prospective clients will expect a portfolio from an architechtural engineer. You should also add more skill categories to your skills list, but only if they are relevant to your work.
Since you are new to Upwork, make sure your profile is 100% complete before applying to jobs. The best way to get your profile setup is to go through the following Academy Courses and Learning Paths:
