Hi Joanne, thanks for your answer; regards.

Kermit,

Be sure to use the resources Joanne Marie provided to revise and complete your profile.

One important thing you need to do is make your main profile focused on a specific skill area. Customer service and tech support are loosely related, but neither is related to being a healthcare advocate.

In your summary, provide more details about your ability to provide customer service, tech support, billing, sales, and collections support. Talk about your support strategy, your timeliness, the tools/applications you use to manage support, and why you are the best customer support professional the client could hire.

Next, add relevant items to your potfolio. More specifically, items related to customer service/tech support (e.g., customer relationship management tools, examples of tech support guidelines, call log samples, etc.)

Clark: thanks for taking the time to review my profile.  One more question: do you advise creating a specialized healthcare advisor profile to elaborate on this role in a way that can be understood?  Regards.

MD AL,

Good start to your profile. There are some grammatical corrections you should make to your overview/summary.

1) Revise the first sentence to speak from a first-person point of view: "I am a B2B Lead Generation Expert and also a copywriter, data entry expert, and web designer."

2) Change ">>>Industrial Knowledge that I will provide." to ">>>Industry knowledge I will provide:"

3) Change "I am studding at Varendra University in Rajshahi. I am doing B.A honors in English. It's duration 4-year for taking this degree. Now I am in First Semester student."

to

" I am first semester student at Varendra University in Rajshahi pursuing a 4-year B.A Honors degree in English."

4) Change "I'm a dedicated person so, why I can provide you a great service in these sectors. Could you want to increase your business sells? You can give me an opportunity to increase your business sells."

to

"Do you need to increase your business sells? I can help you achieve sales growth using a highly effective lead generation strategy. I'm dedicated and reliable, and can provide you with great data entry, data analytics, and lead generation services. Reach out to me and let's discuss your needs and how I can help."

Next, add more meaningful descriptions to the jobs in your employment history.

Hi Mogaka,

Welcome to Upwork.

To start, you should capitalize the first letter of each word in your title; this will help it stand out: Molecular Analysis, Mosquito Morphological Identification Entomology

Next, remove the words "PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY" and "PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES" from your overview/summary. Clients can only see the first two sentences of your summary when they search, so you want to use important words to grab their attention. For example, I think you should start your summary this way:

Detail-oriented Research assistant with hands-on experience performing clinical and laboratory work to advance research goals. I can help research institutions, universities, and businesses with data review, reporting, and specimen handling for mosquito morphological identification.

The best way to position yourself to win jobs is to complete your profile, and learn how to submit proposals. Check out the following Academy Courses and Learning Paths:

Safia,

Your profile looks good. I have only a few suggestions that might help improve it:

1) Capitalize the first letter of each word in your title; this will help it stand out better: Creative Writing, Content Writing, Biography Writing, Translation.

2) I think your overview/summary is good, but I recommend making two or three paragraphs so that it is easier for clients to read.

The other areas of your profile look good.

Kazi Md. Yeakub,

The last sentence in your overview/summary might sound confusing to clients:

"With your deep knowledge of various operating systems, programming languages, and security tools I passed CDCS from London."

This should probably say something like:

"With my deep knowledge of various operating systems, programming languages, and security tools, I passed the Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS) exam and earned the certification conducted by London Institute of Banking and Finance."

Also, add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

Then, add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. This is especially important when the jobs are highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.

Hello Andrea

I am new to the platform. I have taken the free courses and I am ready to work. So far I only submitted two proposals with no responses. Can you look at my profile and give feedback? Thank you.

Clark's avatar
Clark S Community Member

Hello Anthony,

Andrea is an Upwork Moderator. The moderators provide valuable information to freelancers and moderate the forums, but they do not provide feedback on profiles.

I looked through your profile and noticed that it is incomplete, and contains unrelated information; this might be the main reason why you haven't received responses to proposals.

Clients come to Upwork to find freelancers with specific skill sets that can help them meet specific needs. When a client sees your title as "Customer Service/Tech Support," they're expecting to customer service representative or a tech support professional. But your overview/summary talks about real estate, insurance, and home inspections, and mentions gig work with Uber and Grubhub. This is confusing and most clients will bypass your profile.

To eliminate confusion and make your profile more appealing to clients, create a title that focuses on specific work or services. Then, rewrite your summary based on the title. Since you have a variety of skills, you should create one or two Specialized Profiles that focus on those other skills. But make sure your main profile title, summary, and skills list are in sync.

Since you are new to Upwork, make sure your profile is 100% complete before applying to jobs. The best way to complete your profile is to go through the following Academy Courses and Learning Paths:

Blessing,

I think your profile looks good. Your overview/summary is informative; your portfolio and skills list look good; and your project catalog and testimonials look great.

You might want to add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. This is especially important when the jobs are highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.

Based on my view of your profile, it should be 100% complete. If it is not 100%, you may need to check the 100% Profile Completeness: Required and Optional Items to see if you are missing anything.

Good luck!
