Get Profile Feedback from Experienced Freelancers on Upwork

Getting started on Upwork can take a lot of work and focus. To help make this process a little easier, we’ve created this post where you can request feedback on your profile. The community is full of experienced Upwork freelancers who are passionate about helping others. These users will review your profile and provide feedback based on their experience.

If you’re interested in requesting help, make sure your profile visibility is not set to “Private” and then reply below.

We’re excited to see how Community members can continue to help each other to grow!

Note: A previous version of this post was closed as the number of responses made it difficult to read and navigate. If you had not received a response yet to a request you made, please post again in this thread.

Hello experts,

Could you please review my profile and let me know what are the points of improvement?

Hello Sourav,

I think your profile looks great. I do not see much that needs to be improved.

The only recommendation I have is to remove the "with 3+ Years Experience" from your title. Upwork typically recommends those phrases be used in your overview/summary, which you do.

Everything else is good. I do not see any problems that would prevent a client from hiring you.

Hey Nelson,

I'm not an expert freelancer but a community member. I viewed your profile and wanna give you some suggestions.

💢Hourly rate too much high as a newbie freelancer. (Set it down)

💢Profile headline not looking good. (Use keywords)

💢Profile description. (It's shouldn't about you too much but your services)

💢Profile completion isn't 100%.

I hope you'll find it good for you.

Best

Saman.

Hi Hafsa,

You may have missed the review of your profile from July 17. You can see your profile review here.

In addition to the information in that review, you also need to change your profile photo. The picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.

Hafsa,

If you are trying to sell articles about dentistry, you need to make that clear from the very beginning. As it is, you say "Dentist" in your job title. There's no mention of writing in your title. It should say "Writer / Dental Expert" or something along those lines.

To focus on writing for dentists ... that's brilliant. But you have to make it clear that you are an expert at dental topics and a terrific writer. But make it clear that you a writer from the start.

Good luck.

Hi Saman,

I think your profile is good. The only thing I would call attention to in your overview/summary is your use of emojis at the beginning of your summary. Keep in mind that only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. You have a very small window of opportunity to grab their attention. Since some of that space is taken up by emojis, clients will not get as much information about your services and how you can help them.

The emojis at the beginning of your summary are not bad, but they do take up valuable space.

Other than that, your profile looks great. I do not see any huge problems that would prevent a client from hiring you.

Hello Clark,

I'm reaching out to kindly ask if you could take a moment to review my profile. I've been facing some challenges in securing clients, and I believe your insights could greatly help me in addressing this issue.

Hello Ihor,

I looked through your profile and I think most of it is good. The only suggestions I have are:

Overview/Summary: Your summary is good, but I recommend removing the following: "...civil engineering and running a small manufacturing company." This is admirable, but it is not necessarily related to digital marketing services. Since clients are expecting to learn about a virtual assistant who can help with e-commerce and digital marketing, mentioning civil engineering and manufacturing might be confusing.

Portfolio: Add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

Everything else in your profile looks fine.
