Hi Leonard,
Andrea is an Upwork Moderator. The moderators provide valuable information to freelancers and moderate the forums, but they do not provide profile reviews. Other freelancers offer to review profiles and provide feedback.
I looked through your profile and I think you make a good start. Your overview/summary does a good job of listing your services, but I think you should add more substance. Full-stack web development is a highly competitive skill area on Upwork, so getting attention from potential clients can be a challenge. I think more information will increase your chances of keeping a client's attention when they view your profile.
For example, in addition to telling clients about your services and technical skills, tell them about your approach to providing those services (i.e., communication throughout the project lifecycle, consistent feedback, etc.). Also, talk about how you focus on a client's specific requirements; your dedication to quality; and your timeliness. You are competing with hundreds of thousands of developers, so clients need several reasons to choose you.
I recommend adding one or two more items to your portfolio. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression and clients might expect more samples from a full-stack web developer.
Add Full-Stack Development to your skills list. The skill categories in our skills list are keywords/keyphrases Upwork uses to match us with relevant jobs, and to help our profiles appear in search results for those keywords/keyphrases.
Add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. This is especially important when the jobs are highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.

Hi Muhammad,
I typically recommend freelancers not start their overview/summary with a list or sentence that includes emojis. When clients see the first part of your summary in searches, it appears in sentence form with the emojis like this:
The information in the list and the rest of your summary is good; you just have to decide if you think the emojis are more beneficial than other words/characters that could appear in the small space.
The lack of projects is probably not related to your profile. Competition is high among WordPress developers, so getting profile views, proposal views, and winning jobs can be a challenge. If you have the Connects to spend, keep trying and hopefully you will win a project soon.

Hi there,
It seems you are new here.
And based on that, I must say you have a good profile.
One notice I will say is to focus more on portfolios don't just show them in which blog you have worked, but also show them what the outcome you can generate.
This is a small note from me.
I wish you all the success.
Regards,
Rahul

Rabby Nur,
Here are a few suggestions that might help improve your profile:
1) Capitalize the first letter of each word in your title; this will help it stand out: Graphic Design | UI/UX | Powerpoint Presentations | Logos
2) Remove the first line of you overview/summary: "👉 About Me"
3) Also for your summary, your first two paragraphs contain what is commonly referred to as "fluff." I recommend revising this by telling clients exactly which services you provide, and as soon as possible. Why eliminate fluff words and the first line of your summary? Because only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. This means you have very little space to get their attention, and you want the client to see their goals (your services) in that small space.
I would take everything under "About Me" and "Professional Experience," consolidate it, and eliminate any unnecessary words. Here is an example:
Seasoned Graphic and UI/UX Designer with 5 years of experience creating visually stunning and user-centric designs. I combine creativity, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of user behavior to tackle diverse design challenges, craft compelling brand identities, and design intuitive and seamless user interfaces. |
The two video items in your portfolio are good, but I think clients will expect to see more visual examples from a graphic designer. You are competing with hundreds of thousands of graphic/UX/UI designers with full portfolios, so I suggest adding two or three more items to show your skills.
The other areas of your profile look good.

And I like to get feedback from other freelancers)

Hello Valijon,
I looked through your profile and I have a few suggestions:
1) Capitalize the first letter of each word in your title; this will help it stand out a little better: Graphic Designer / Logo & Brand Identity Designer
2) Remove the greeting and your name from the first sentence of your overview/summary: "Hello! My name is Valijon," Why? Because only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. This means you have very little space (about 250 characters) to get their attention. You want that small space to include important words (like your services); you don't want to waste any space with a greeting or your name.
3) Add more skill categories to your skills list. You should include categories like Graphic Design and UX & UI Design. It is important to keep your skills list updated with relevant skills categories so that Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and so your profile will appear when clients search for your skills.

Christina,
You wait until paragraphs three and four to tell us what services you are offering and your first two paragraphs are not very useful. (Rhetorical questions are, by definition, a waste of time.) Then, when you do tell us about your services, you kind of blast right through them, as if you were in a hurry. You develope strategic roadmaps for podcasts, for example, and then you don't explain how you do that or give any examples. It just feels rushed.
Slow it down and keep it simple. "I am an expert podcast developer who offers a wide range of services from content writing to production to marketing." See? First sentence -- boom. Put it right there. Then explain your credentials -- did you go to school for this? Have you had notable successes to name-drop? What types of podcasts have you worked for -- major companies or private ones? True crime or inspirational topics? When you provide details, this gives a lot more credibility to what you say.
Keep it friendly, confident and establish your expertise. You do sound like you know what you're doing, but the writing is confusing and a bit mashed together. If it is longer, it also gives clients a chance to get to know you a bit. That can help, too. The Internet is like outer space; it's pretty cold. So you have to spend a little time with your clients so they can warm up to you. I'm a tough grader, but I hope that helps.
Good luck.
I didn't know you had two profiles. I looked at the podcast one with the long title. I would encourage you to be very concise with your tittle as well. "Expert Podcast Developer." Upwork's system -- what it shows to clients -- works best when you are brief. I don't know why, but that's what I'm told. A rambling title might only present clients with the unneccessary words, which will not help them find you.

Valentin,
Here are a few things I see in your profile that I would fix:
Hourly Rate: Your rate will be more recognizable ending in ".00" rather than ".33." I recommend making your hourly rate $33.00/hr. or another rate the ends with ".00."
Title: Industry uses a dash in the word "back-end" and you should do the same in your title. Upwork uses the word "back-end" as well, and you want your title to use Upwork's version of the word: Backend -> Back-End
Overview/Summary: Your summary speaks nicely about your experience and background, but you never tell potential clients how you can help them. Clients come to Upwork with specific projects or needs, and they look for freelancers who can meet those needs.
I recommend using your summary to talk about your services and provide examples of the types of projects you can complete. As an example:
I'm a highly experienced developer with over 15 years of expertise building web, mobile and desktop applications, and decentralized applications (DApps). I have a strong track record in PHP development, with 5 years of leadership experience. |
The idea is to give clients examples of your services so that they better understand how you can help them or solve their problems.
Portfolio: Add a portfolio to show samples of previous work or to demonstrate your skills. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

Thank you a bunch! I've made some adjustments to my Overview/Summary. Could you please take another look? Additionally, I'm curious about your thoughts on my portfolio. Given my specialization in Back-end, my focus is on code and architecture rather than the sites themselves. Any guidance on what would be more suitable for my specialization would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Nov 24, 2023 04:08:45 AM by Anthony H
Awais,
You hit all the right markers with your write-up, but your first sentence needs to be fixed (at the end). Secondly, where are your writing samples? You've done hundreds of assignments, so you must have a ton of samples to choose from. Professional writers always make writing samples available. Put at least three solid samples in your portfolio.
Good luck.
