Rabby Nur,

You've made improvements since the last review. However, I still recommend removing the first line of you overview/summary: "๐Ÿ‘‹Thank you so much for landing my profile." Before, you had "๐Ÿ‘‰ About Me" which takes up less space, but neither should be used as the first sentence of your summary.

As stated in the last review, only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. Within that small space, you want clients to see their goals (your services); this is more likely to convince them to click on your profile.

The updated portfolio looks good.

Other freelancers here might be willing to offer their own feedback.

Good luck!

Hi Adeel, have a nice weekend!
As I mentioned earlier, although I'm not a Top rated or High-earned developer on Upwork, I would be glad to suggest some improvements you can make to your profile.

I reviewed your profile, overall, it looks good

1. I recommend adding at least one specialized feature to your profile to showcase your capabilities.

2. It would be beneficial, to add Introduction video that explains your work and what you do.
3. Your profile doesn't seem to be as appealing to clients, I recommend adding a couple of portfolios to showcase your work.

Overall, your profile picture, skills section and other sections looks great, Thanks!
if you have any questions, let me know!

Abdullah,

The updates you made since the November 23 review look good. However, I still think you need more substance in your overview/summary, and the relevant jobs in your employment history need descriptions.

Other freelancers might chime in and offer their observations.

Good luck!

Hello Steve,

There is good information in your overview/summary, but I recommend changing the order in which they appear. First, remove the first and seconde lines: "Powering Android, iOS, Desktop & Backend Solutions" and "Senior Android & Backend Engineer iOS developper developer" or move them further down and combine them with other sentences to create a paragraph. Then, place to most important information at the top (see screenshot):

celgins_0-1701176208271.png

Clients should see your summary starting with: "As an experienced developer, I offer expert guidance in development, architecture, and security. I can help you with:" because this information is more important than a list of applications, frameworks, and programming languages.

Clients will only see the first two sentences of your summary when searching for freelancers, so you want them to see their goals (your services and what you can help them with).

Hello Jiteshh,

With so much experience in general business and business development, you are the best person to determine how to get related assignments here on Upwork. When you search for jobs, you are in a better position than most to understand the clien'ts requirements and which services are needed to meet those requirements.

I looked through your profile and overall, it is okay. However, you need to update a few things to make your profile more appealing to clients:

1) Remove the first line in your overview/summary: "General Manager- Business Development, L&D, Admin & General Management"  Why remove it? Because only the first 215-250 characters (approximately two sentences) of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. This means you have very little space to grab their attention, and you want clients to see their goals (your services) in that small space. You don't want to waste repeating a job title or skill area.

After that, the first part of your summary has good information, but it should be more assertive and formed as a paragraph. Here is an example:

More than 27 years of experience providing business development, general management, and administrative leadership solutions to multinational corporations. I can lead a team of professionals using leadership, management and motivational qualities I have used throughout my career.

I am capable of taking bird's eye view and peforming micro analysis to make critical decisions for the benefit of your business or organizatio. I can also help businesses adopt and accept new changes and manage strategies for implementation by setting an example and leading from the front.

Qualifications include:

(...)

This example puts your services up front and allows clients to better understand how you can help them.

2) Update your skills list with skill catetgories related to your work. None of the six skill categories in your list are directly related to your work. Keep in mind that Upwork uses these skill categories to match you with relevant jobs and to help your profile appear in searches. You should consider skill categories that appear in your title and summary like: Business Development, EXIM, Supply Chain Management, Team Building, and others.

3) Add a portfolio to show samples of previous work or to demonstrate your skills. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you donโ€™t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

Hey!

I've just jumped on board.

Would love some feedback from some experienced UpWorkers!

thanks

Elly,

Some minor, but telling issues. First, don't start with "Hi, I'm Elly." It's a waste of time and time matters here. Also, your name is very boldly posted at the top of your profile, so it's redundant.

I don't think, "For over the past 10 years, Iโ€™ve had broad experience in the Housing and Construction industry, both here in Australia and overseas," is your strongest opening, either. You have to absolutely and immediately establish your expertise and experience is great, but expertise is uncompromising. You have to start with, "I am an expert construction management administrator with over ten years experience." If you say you are an expert, clients will read the rest of the profile. If you don't, why would they bother. They can get expert help elsewhere, so why settle for someone who simply has experience?

I also wouldn't put "data entry" at the top of your skill list. It's a very basic skill that doesn't generally pay $80 per hour, so it's a bit incongruous. I would think you would have tons more skills to put in front of that one, given your experience.

All that said, you have international experience working in construction management!!! Holy smokes!!! How many construction managers can say that??? Almost zero. You could really emphasize that. That's incredibly impressive.

That said, what you need is a few more details. Tell us about some of those international experiences. "I have worked on projects in Spain, Germany and Brazil." Or "I managed supply issues for a project in Japan and on budget issues for a project in South Africa..." Any sort of details like that would help support your credibility.

That's my two cents. Needs to be more confident and more assertive ... Good luck.

(Don't capitalize Housing and Construction. To look professional, write like a professional.)

Please let an expert review my profile /freelancers/peterk371

Peter,

Take out the first sentence. The rest of your write-up is pretty close to perfect.

Good luck.

Thank you Anthony for the positive review. Let me now work towards writing quality proposals. Any Leads?

Peter,

Keep checking the job boards. That's where the leads are.

The next trick is to learn to write very effective proposals. To my thinking, this is just as important as the profile page.

CH Muhammad Shoaib,

You need to revise your overview/summary. Remove the first two lines:

(:rosette:๏ธ) Open For Long Term And Short Term Projects (:rosette:๏ธ)

Data Entry Specialist

The main paragraph in your summary sounds like a ChatGPT definition:

A Data Entry Specialist is a professional responsible for entering and updating data into computer systems or databases. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within an organization. Here are some key aspects of the role:

This is not what clients want to read. To make your profile more appealing to clients, speak direcly to clients as yourself--do not use a generic definition for data entry.

Data entry is one of the most competitive skill areas on Upwork. In addition to a list of services, you should  give clients more information about your process for working with them (i.e., communication, timeliness, etc.) You are competing with hundreds of thousands of data entry specialists, so clients need several reasons to choose you.

The other areas of your profile are okay, but your summary is one of the most important parts, and needs updates.

https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/asghara18

Asghar,

You say all the right things in your write-up and I love the idea of posting articles next to the reviews your clients have posted for you. The only real complaint I have is that your opening sentence is very wordy. You could say the same thing using half as many words.

You have to be concise. Get to the point. Your opening is this: ''Whether you need blog posts, website content, press releases, copywriting, or any other type of written material, I have the expertise to create high-quality content writing and article writing that will capture your audience's attention and deliver results.'

That's 39 words. You could say the same thing this way: "I am an experienced, versatile content,  writer, who can capture your audience's imagination with clear, engaging prose suited for websites, blogs, press releases and more."

That said, you show how friendly, confident and esperienced you are throughout your profile page. I think overall you did an excellent job. For the future, however, think in terms of brevity. Clear writing is direct and simple. Your first sentence, as it is now, is like a dance partner who is all over the place. It's hard to keep up with that type of writing. And what I read of your articles are cleaner than that. So, it's clear you can do better.

That's very picky of me ... but you did a great job overall in my opinion.

Hi Upworkers!

I am new here. Please take a look at my profile.
Thanks!
Have a wonderful day!

Anita

Anita,

I think you just have to say more. A write-up is kind of a sales pitch and two or three sentences just isn't that impressive.

You say you have a proven expertise in data analytics. That's great. But you need details to make that claim sound credible. What kinds of companies or projects have you worked on? What kinds of results came out of that? Were these long-term projects or short-term? The truth is, I'm way out of my league here, so you have to cook up some specifics yourself. You don't even say where you studied. That would help.

Specifics will give you more credibility. You sound friendly and confident, but I think you need to add to that. It's hard to say exactly how, but one thing I advise is for you to imagine a camera following you around. What does that camera see? If you could write that down, it would also add to your credibility -- in so many words, explain how you go about your work.  Do you scan the Internet for information? Do you write reports? Do you cross-check facts? Describing how you do your work would also help you sound more convincing. (It's not that I'm not convinced ... but $50 per hour, which seems very fair for what you do, still requires more justification.)

Good luck.

Hi Nahuel,

I reviewed your profile and I think it looks good. One thing to keep in mind about the first part of your overview/summary: When clients search for freelancers, only the first 215-250 characters (approximately two sentences) are shown. This means you have very little space to grab their attention, and you want clients to see important words in that small space. Make sure the first two sentences are exactly what you want clients to see. What they see should convince them to click and view the rest of your profile.

Your portfolio, skills list, employment history, and other profile areas look good.

Good luck!

Hi Orderia,

Very nice profile. This is typically how I recommend freelancers setup their summary, portfolio, skills, and other areas, so I think it's good.

I do not see any problems or issues that would prevent a client from hiring you.

Good luck!
