Hello Danke,
Unfortunately, your lack of profile and proposal views is quite common. It's mostly likely related to high competition, marketplace and algorithm unpredictability, and other factors that affect how and where our proposals and profiles appear to clients.
I looked through your profile and I think it looks good. I would make a few small changes/updates:
1) The greeting at the beginning of your overview/summary ("Hi there! ๐") doesn't occupy a lot of space--only 11 characters. But I think it's 11 characters too many. When clients search for freelancers, only the first 200-250 characters of your summary are shown. Since you have very little space to squeeze in important words (i.e., your services, skills, and experience), I would remove the emoji and greeting.
2) Be sure to add other relevant skill categories to your skills list. For example, Product Design, SaaS, and SaaS Development are highly relevant to your services, and you use these words in your title and summary. Upwork uses the skill categories in your skills list to match you with relevant jobs, and to help your profile appear in search results when clients search for those skills. You want to be linked to "product design" and "SaaS."
3) You should consider adding a project catalog. The project catalog allows you to setup a pre-packaged service that clients can buy without you sending a proposal. Due to higher than usual requests for project catalogs, reviews and approvals are taking a minimum of 10 business days. Read Get Started With Project Catalog for more information.
Your portfolio and employment history look good.
You already have the skills and qualifications, so if you have the Connects to spend, I encourage you to keep trying. Hopefully, you will win your first job soon.
Good luck!

Hey thanks for the feedback Clark! Really good advice.
Will update the summary and skills list.
Also thinking of adding a design subscription in project catalog, hopefully we can do that as it's gaining traction right now.
Definitely will keep trying in upwork for the time being! Thank you again.

Hi Elohor,
I think your profile looks good. Your summary is informative and offers enough information for clients to understand how you can help them. Your portfolio, skills and certification look good too.
You should consider adding a project catalog. The project catalog allows you to setup a pre-packaged service that clients can buy without you sending a proposal. Due to higher than usual requests for project catalogs, reviews and approvals are taking a minimum of 10 business days. Read Get Started With Project Catalog for more information.
Everything else looks good.

Hello Gyorgy,
Welcome to Upwork.
I looked through your profile and I have a few recommendations for improvements.
Title: In addition to marketable skills and experience information required for a profile, appearance also plays a big role. Some items get more attention than others and I recommend capitalizing the first letter of each word in your title; this will help it stand out: Data Analyst | Machine Learning | Forecasting | Predictive Modeling
Profile Description/Summary: Your introductory text sounds fine, but the rest of your summary lacks the information clients often look for. Clients come to Upwork with specific needs and they look for freelancers who can meet those needs and get results. In addition to your skills, clients want to know the value in working with you. Clients are spending money and they want to know if you are worth it.
Here are a few things I would add to your description/summary:
When clients view your profile, they look for reasons to choose you. The information you provide can help them better understand why they should hire you and how it will benefit them.
Skills and Experience Presentation: As stated above, a great way to illustrate your experience is by highlighting data analysis projects you've worked on. Even if a potential client has a slightly different requirement, your successful provision of data analysis or category management services will mean a lot.
When I look at your skills list, I'm not seeing important skill categories like Data Analysis, Data Analytics, Category Management, Forecasting, and Data Visualization. Each skill category is relevant to your work and aligns with your title, summary, certifications, and employment history. Upwork uses these skill categories to match you with relevant jobs, and to help your profile appear in search results when clients search for those skills.
Portfolio: I think your portfolio looks good; the items accurately represent your skills and services.
Pricing/Hourly Rate: I think your hourly rate is a too low. Even though you are new to Upwork, you are an experienced category manager and data analyst, and your hourly rate should mirror your real-world qualifications. Some say freelancers new to Upwork should keep their rates lower until they win and complete two or three jobs. I understand this approache, but I mostly disagree with it. I think highly skilled freelancers should charge rates based on their experience and qualifications--the same rates you would charge outside of Upwork.
I searched for data analysts with similar skill sets (i.e., predictive analysis, ML with Python, etc.) based in Hungary and most freelancers have rates between $25.00/hr - $55.00/hr. You should pick a rate you are comfortable with, but I believe $10.00/hr is quite low for someone with your qualifications.
Your certifications and employment history look great. These also play a role in helping clients determine if you are the best candidate to hire.
Overall, your profile looks good. After you add more substance to your description/summary, I think it will make a more well-rounded profile.
Good luck!

Ajirola,
Overall, I think your profile looks good. Here are a few suggestions:
1) Capitalize the first letter of each word in your title; this will help it stand out: Data Entry Clerk
2) Your overview/summary does a good job of telling clients about your skills. Now, tell clients how you can meet their needs. For example, I would tell them immediately in the first two sentences:
I am a skilled data entry clerk with exceptional organizational and time management skills. I perform data research, data collection, and accurately input, update, and maintain data in databases, spreadsheets, or information systems. With over three years of experience, I possess advanced proficiency in various data entry software tools like Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Spreadsheet, and Google Docs.
Key skills: (...) |
3) Add one or two more items to your portfolio to show samples of previous work or to demonstrate your skills. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you donโt have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.
4) Add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history--especially if the hospital administration jobs require data entry. A job description is especially important when the job is highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.
Your video introduction, skills list and certifications look good.
Good luck!

Okay, random question. I've been on Upwork for a long time but I wasn't active back then and I don't have any work history on upwork. I just recently starting to get active and set my portfolio up. The Question is, will costumer see that as disadvantages seeing that I've been on this platform for so long but my work history is zero??? I do have my portfolio set up, Hereโs the link to my profile . Any answer will be much appreciated.
Feb 25, 2024 06:53:25 AM by Clark S
Agus,
Some clients might see it as a risk while others will not. The most important thing is to have marketable skills and qualifications, and a 100% complete profile that illustrates both. A strong work history looks great, but I believe clients are mostly interested in qualified freelancers who have the skills to do the job.
Your profile is set to Private. You must set your profile to Public if you want other freelancers to see it.
Feb 25, 2024 06:56:56 AM by Clark S
Mark,
The first thing you should do is change your profile photo. The picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face. No other persons should appear in the picture. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.
Make sure your profile is 100% complete before applying to jobs. The best way to complete your profile is to go through the following Academy Courses and other resources:

Muhammad,
I recommend using sentences in a paragraph at the beginning of your overview/summary. When clients search for freelancers, only the first 200-250 characters of your summary are shown. This means you have very little space to get their attention. Use this small space to introduce your services and remove emojis, statements, or any unnecesary text. For example:
Experienced virtual assistant helping businesses with data analysis, data entry, task management, schedule and calendar management, and administrative support. |
Add more items to your portfolio to show samples of previous work or to demonstrate your skills. Clients will expect to see more than one example in your portfolio. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you donโt have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.
You work as a Database Administrator for Upwork? If so, that's great. If you are not employed by Upwork, you should remove it from your employment history.

Feb 25, 2024 07:16:51 AM by Clark S
Hi Muhammad Aqeel,
Most clients come to Upwork to find freelancers for short- or long-term projects. When you say you seek a role in data sorting, design, and data entry, it sounds like you are seeking a job as an employee.
Your title should include a specific skill area or related skill areas. Remove the word "Computer" since it has no relevance. If you plan to provide data entry and transcription services, simply use: Data Entry & Transcription Services. Then, create a Specialized Profile that focus on any services not related to data entry and transcription.
Use your summary to focus on your data entry and transcription services. Tell clients which services you provide (i.e., "I specialize in performing data research, data analysis, and data collection and entering data into spreadsheets and databases.") Remove the information regarding logo design since it is not related to data entry. Focus on data entry tasks and tell clients how you will meet their needs by completing their data entry tasks.
Add a portfolio to show samples of previous work or to demonstrate your skills. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you donโt have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

Hi Waqas,
The first thing you should do is change your profile photo. The picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.
Based on the information in your overview/summary, you sound like a recruiter. A more focused title could be: Human Resources Recruiter or Human Resources Coordinator or HR Staffing Manager.
I recommend revising the first part o your summary to focus on the services you provide. You summary starts with the focus on you when the focus should be on clients and how you can help them. You easily make this adjustment by moving content from the bottom to the top. For example:
I help professionals locate new and challenging career opportunities, and assist companies in finding qualified, highly skilled talent to fulfill their hiring needs. |
The first 200-250 characters of your summary are shown in search results, so you want clients to see their goals (your services) first. Also, add blank lines between paragraphs in your summary to make it easier for clients to read.
Add a portfolio to show samples of previous work or to demonstrate your skills. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you donโt have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.
Add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. A job description is especially important when the job is highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.
Good luck!

Hello, Mykola! My profile has already been updated and has become public. Please review when you get a chance.
Feb 25, 2024 08:27:56 AM by Clark S
Anastasiia,
Your profiile is public now.
I looked through each section and I have a few suggestions that might help improve it:
Title: Capitalize the first letter of each word in your title; this will help it stand out when clients see it in searches: Landscape Architect | 3D Artist
Overview/Summary: There is good information in your summary, but it doesn't go far enough to convince clients to hire you. Landscape architecturing is an involved process, so clients will expect more details about your services and how you can help them.
When clients search for freelancers, only the first 200-250 characters of your summary are shown. This means you have very little space to get their attention. You want clients to see their goals (your services) in this small space; your skills and background information can follow. Here's an example:
I am a licensed landscape designer with 7 years of experience designing outdoor spaces and urban greening with a focus on creating functional, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable environments. I have deep knowledge of dendrology and use Realtime Landscaping Architect, AutoCAD, Archicad, SketchUp, 3dsmax and Corona Render to create detailed 2D and 3D landscape designs.
I have worked in Kyiv, Ukraine with residential complexes "Respublika", "Faina Town" and "UNIT City." This experience has allowed me to develop a proven process for creating 3D renderings of the interior and exterior of complex structures.
(Now, add more substance that gives clients more reasons to choose you. For example:
|
Portfolio: As a landscape architect/3D artist, it's absolutely critical to have a portfolio. Add a portfolio to show samples of previous work or to demonstrate your skills. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression and all clients will expect to see three or four samples from a landscape/3D artist. If you donโt have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.
Your skills, project catalog and employment history look good. The biggest improvements you can make is your overview/summary and portfolio.
Good luck!

Feb 25, 2024 08:53:55 AM by Clark S
Mohammad,
The updates from the previous review look good.
If you can find a way to add Full-Stack Development to your skills it would be great. We are allowed only 15 skill categories, so you would have to remove one to add Full-Stack Development. I would probably remove Front-End Development and replace it with Full-Stack Development since full-stack includes front-end development. Plus, you use "full-stack developer" in your title and summary, and Upwork looks for synergy between your title, summary, and skills list.

I have made the corrections. And Also Thank you for your Feedback.

Hey seniors,
Hope you all are doing well.
I created my Upwork profile in 2021 and got some orders but then I found some local and international clients via Facebook, so I left Upwork.
But now I want to work on Upwork. I have completed my profile 100% and sent proposals but still not getting any responses. Kindly share your precious advice, What should I do? Please take a look at my profile and let me know where I can be better. Also, I think my writing skills are not that good, I can't convince clients enough. Any tips for that too?
