MD Sabbir,

Welcome to Upwork.

Your profile makes a good start, but I think your overview/summary needs to provide more information about how you can help clients.  However, clients expect to read a little about your skills and qualifications, but they really want to know how your skills/qualifications will benefit them. Give clients specific examples of the real world problems you can solve with advanced math and statistics.

Your General Translation Services specialized profile will be confusing to clients who might see it. The title needs to be focused on a specific skill area and if you provide translation services, the summary needs to focus specifically on your translation services and how you can help clients.

The other areas of your profile look fine.

Hi, Anas Here, 🤓

I would appreciate it if you could look over my profile and provide some honest feedback.

Hi Anas,

I think your profile looks good, but you might want to review the beginning of your overview/summary. Right now, you have:

Shopify Store & Product Landing Page Designer So You Can "Converts Visitors Into Customers"

120+ Satisfied Customers

✶✶✶✶✶ Reviews

Keep in mind that only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. This means you have very little space to grab their attention. If you think the information you have now will get the most attention, you should keep. If not, you might want to change it. The first sentence is okay, but "120+ Satisfied Customers ✶✶✶✶✶ Reviews " may not provide much value to potential clients.

Also, be sure to review your skills list and include skill categories relevant to your services. For example, you should consider adding Shopify Development and Shopify Marketing  since you title and summary focus on this type of Shopify support. It is important to keep your skills list updated with relevant skills categories so that Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and so your profile will appear when clients search for your skills.

Hello Ajarat,

I think I missed this message a few days ago.

I looked through your profile and I think it looks great. Very nice credentials with lots of relevant experience, and a great portfolio, certifications, and employment history.

The only thing I would consider changing is your hourly rate; I think it might be a little low for someone with your skills, qualifications, and expertise. However, you might want complete a few more jobs on Upwork before raising the rate.

Other than that, everything looks good. I do not see any problems or issues that would prevent a client from hiring you.

Hello Steven,

I looked through each section of your profile and I'm not seeing any glaring issues that would prevent a client from hiring you.

You want to add skill categories to each item in your portfolio. These skill categories act as keywords and can help match your profile with relevant jobs.

Good luck!

Ehab,

There are several things in your profile you should work on:

Title: Correct the spelling of "entery" - > "entry" and "tecnical" -> "technical": Data Entry, Typing, Technical Support IT, E-mailing, Translating. However, you should consider removing unrelated skill categories because this can be confusing to clients. For example, data entry, typing and emailing are not necessarily related to tech support, and neither is related to translating.

You may want to add one or two Specialized Profiles that focus on other services. You can focus your main profile on data entry/typing services, and create a specialized profile for tech support and another specialized profile for translation services.

Overview/Summary: Your summary lists a lot of skills, but you never tell clients which services you provide and how you can help them. Clients expect to read about your skills and qualifications, but they really want to know how your skills/qualifications will benefit them.

In addition to telling clients about your data entry and typing skills, tell them about your approach to providing those services. Talk about your timeliness, accuracy, and ability to communicate effectively. Talk about the tools (i.e., software, apps, etc.) you use and how it makes you more efficient. Then, tell clients why you are their best choice.

Do the same for your tech support and translation specialized profiles.

Portfolio: Add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

Hello Bharti,

There are several updates you need to make to get clients interested in hiring you.

Title: Capitalize the first letter of each word in your title; this will help it stand out: Microsoft Office | Tally Data Entry | Emailing | Billing | Accounts. However, ifyour main focus is that of a billing manager, your title might be more meaningful to clients if you simply use: Billing Manager or Billing Manager | Accounts | Data Entry.

Overview/Summary: Remove the first line from your summary: "Professional Summary". When clients search for freelancers, only the first two sentences of your summary are shown, which means you have very little space to get their attention. You d o not want waste space with unnecessary words.

Next, you should probably add more information to your summary. The information you have is great; you tell potential clients what you can do and how your services can benefit them. Now, you should tell them about the tools/applications you use, your timeliness, and your ability to communicate effectively. Also talk about how you respect deadlines and can help maintain quality standards. Remember--you are competing with hundreds of billing managers, so clients need a reason to choose you.

Portfolio: Add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

I think the other areas of your profile look fine. I think the biggest improvement you can make is with your title and summary.

Hi Arvind,

I think your overview/summary has good information, but the most important information for clients should be at the top. Clients expect to read about your skills and qualifications, but they really want to know how your skills/qualifications will benefit them. In other words, clients are more concerned about your services and what you can do for them, and less concerned about your learning skills or your interest in freelance work.

I recommend moving your key skills to the top and making them more client-focused. For example:

I am a skilled software tester and website developer with over 18 years of work experience. I can help you with Test Planning, Test Case Creation, Manual Testing, Bug Reporting, and QA documentation. I have worked in extensively in Payment Transactions, Derivatives Markets, Financial Rating and Infrastructure projects, and have good experience of working with distributed team SCRUM teams in Agile methodology.

The reason to do this is because only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. This means you have very little space to grab their attention. You want to use that small window to talk about your services so that clients can see your capacity to meet their goals.

Also, I suggest removing the word "Experienced" from the title in all of your profiles. Upwork recommends only using skill areas in the title, and other descriptive words should be used in your summary.

The other areas of your profile look good.

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are doing well. My name is Sarannya (Sharan for short), new to upwork and looking for opportunities to work online as Virtual Assistant.

Would you be able to take a quick look at my profile and let me know what needs to be updated/changed or taken out ? I am quite nervous of applying for jobs and if you can tell me what to make changes to, that will help me be more confident.

Hello Sharan

I have carefully reviewed your profile and to me it's not well standard enough I will like you to consider somethings like:

Try changing your profile title to something eye catchy and speaks everything about your expertise

Also try changing the fist sentence in your description ":glowing_star: Efficiency, Excellence, and Everything Admin.:glowing_star:"  you can just change to an introduction about yourself

Also try adding more portfolio

Consider adding more skills to your profile for your profile visibilty and also regular update of your skills will make you profile more visible

Also the most important thing you should consider doing is you create project catalogue cause that's what buyer will use to order you

Then consider adding  certificates and not just one you can about 3-4 certificates

Also consider adding your past experience to build trust with buyer

Also consider adding more of your employment history

I guess that's all I think you can do to make your profile standard and visible

Kindly review my profile and give me your feedback

Hello Ede

I have carefully reviewed your profile and to me is not well standard enough though it's good but I will you to consider somethings like:

I suggest you change your profile title

Then I suggest you try creating specialised profile

Add more skills and also regularly update your skill for your profile to be visible well enough

Also the most important thing you should do if you want to make money here on Upwork though have not made mine but I know I will make mine soon try creating project catalogue I think the maximum you can create is 20 so try and create it

Try adding certificates

Also consider adding your past experience

Also more employment history to boost your profile and as well build your trust with client

I guess that's I think you can do to make your profile really standard  enough, bur if you think there is more you can add then try adding it

Kindly review my profile as well

Mike,

I looked through your profile and I have a few suggestions to improve it. Looking at each section:

Title: Capitalize the first letter of each word in your title; this will help it stand out: Marketing Consulting | Marketing Strategy | Advertising

Overview/Summary: Your summary provides a lot of background and personal information, but clients are not very interested in this. Clients come to Upwork with specific needs and they look for freelancers with the skills to meet those needs. Clients expect to read about your skills and qualifications, but they really want to know how your skills/qualifications will benefit them.

First, your summary is written from a third-person point of view when it should be written from your point of view. Everywhere it says "Mike..." or "He...," it should say "I..."

Next, remove the first line "Executive Summary." Then, revise your summary to talk about your specific marketing services and how those services will help clients boost their brand, generate more leads, and maximize business revenue. Clients want to know which services you provide and how those services will help them get results.

When clients search for freelancers, only the first two sentences of your summary are shown. This means you have very little space to grab their attention, so make sure the first two lines in your summary are convincing by mentioning your services and how you can help clients reach their goals.

Portfolio: Add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

Once you update your summary, I think clients will have a better understanding of your marketing services and how you can solve their problems.

celgins

Samson,

Your title will not be very interesting to clients; it is too broad and does not focus on any particular skill area(s). Your title should be something like IT Project Manager or IT Project Manager | Software.

Your overview/summary talks about the team of designers, marketers, developers and testers, but you never tell clients what they do. What does your team do to help businesses grow online? How does growing a business online relate to your project management skills and what does this mean for clients?  Clients expect to read about your skills and qualifications, but they really want to know how your skills/qualifications will benefit them.

Add a portfolio to show samples of your work. Clients like visuals and the portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

Also, add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. This is especially important when the jobs are highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.

Hello! Thank you so much to those who are willing and have time to review my profile. I am working on getting testimonials at the moment. Thanks again 🙂

Hello Lea,

Good start to your profile.

I think your overview/summary has valuable information for clients. I recommend adding more details about the mechanical engineering services you provide and how you can help clients meet their specific needs.

Here is an example using more details about your services:

I’m a mechanical engineer with technical experience spanning the entire design cycle, from CAD work, prototype development, and testing to collecting user and client feedback. I tackle environmental challenges and create sustainable solutions for a better future, and I can help you design, develop,  and construct specific systems and specialized products--starting at the conceptual level through full modeling and into manufacturing and testing.

As a mechanical engineer with solid knowledge of manufacturing methods, I manage your entire project and help you determine the right manufacturing process for your products. I work closely with you to understand your unique needs and will provide the following services:

- 3D modeling with SolidWorks, including sheet metal design

- Rapid prototyping

- Documentation and drawings
- Quantity surveying
- Cost estimation
- Project management

Let’s discuss your business needs and how I can help. I'm available to meet here on Upwork to review your requirements.

You do not have to keep the content I added, but you get the idea--add more information that will help clients understand your process and how your services will benefit them.

Also, as a mechanical engineer, having a portfolio is extremely important. Clients will want to see drawings, 3D models/renders, examples of material, sample plans/sketches, design schematics... all of it. I suggest adding a portfolio with sheet metal designs, 3D designs/drawings/animations of parts or products or devices, etc.

Your skills list, certifications, and employment history look good.

After you add a little more information to your summary, I think clients will have a better understanding of your services and how you can help meet their needs or solve their problems. In addition to the testimonials you are adding, this will make your profile much more appealing to clients.

Good luck!

I think I need your assistance in using this application to find work. I have a tremendous amount of experience and my compenstation rate in my proposals is very low as compared to what I make in actual freelance jobs that I already have. But still, I have yet to ever even recieve a response. I feel that I am not using the application properly. Please help, thanks.

Hello Kadriye,

Andrea is an Upwork Moderator. The moderators provide valuable information to freelancers and moderate the forums, but they do not provide profile reviews.

I looked at your profile and I have a few suggestions that might help improve it:

Title: Remove "Other - " since this provides no information about your skills. Your title will be more meaningful to clients if use Certified Public Accountant or Certified Public Accountant | Accounting and Consulting.

Ooverview/Summary: Your summary does not provide enough information for clients to understand how you can help them. Clients know what accountants do, but you should still list specific services and talk about how those services will meet the client's needs.

I recommend using your summary to tell clients about your specific services (e.g., payroll consultancy services, tax preparation support, bookkeeping, preparation of financials, etc.). Then, talk about your success providing these services to other clients/businesses. Finally, talk about your approach to providing these services--your timeliness, accuracy, and ability to communicate effectively. Remember--you are competing with thousands of accounting professionals, so clients need a reason to choose you.

Portfolio: Add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients and clients like visuals. You can provide samples of financial documents, spreadsheets, QuickBooks screenshots, etc. to demonstrate your skills and the tools you use.

Employment History: Add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. This is especially important when the jobs are highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.
