Hello Kanwal,

Welcome to Upwork, and good start to your profile.

Here are a few suggestions:

1) I normally suggest freelancers remove words from their title if the words are skill areas or represent an occupation. I think your title is okay, but I would not use an acronym. Instead, I would write yout title like this: Medical Transcriptionist | Helping Doctors Document Patients' History

2) The information in your overview/summary is good, but I would make a few changes. First, I would remove the emojis in the first few paragraphs because they waste valuable space. When clients search for freelancers on Upwork, only the first two sentences of your summary are shown. This means you have very little space (only two sentences) to get the client's attention. You want to use that small space to talk about your services and how you can help clients. Your first sentence does this, but you can squeeze in more of it if you remove the emojis.

Also, you might want to consider removing the greeting and your name "Hello, I am Kanwal". These sound fine, but again, they take up valuable space, and clients can already see your name on your profile.

Finally, with your experience, you need to use the word "expert" in your summary. Then, combine the first two paragraphs and give clients more information about how you can help them.

Altogether, here is how I would revise the first part of your summary.

I am an expert Medical Transcriptionist with more than 20 years of experience. I can help you to maintain your medical records, and transcribe your dictations, files, and consultation reports quickly and in a timely manner.

I have worked for many surgeons, physicians and radiologists from USA, UK and Canada to transcribe their medical reports and work data. I will use this experience to transcribe your medical data and other related information, precisely as verbally dictated by physicians. My goal is to ensure your medical data information is transcribed accurately with no omissions or inconsistencies.

I am expert in:

(...)

3) You have a long history of medical transcription work, so you need to add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. This is especially important when the jobs are highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.

I think these few updates will enhance your profile and make it more appealing to your potential clients.

Zia,

It would help tremendously if you had some writing samples. You should also talk about your writing experiences. Add some specifics -- who you worked for, what topics you've covered. The more details you provide the more credible your write up will sound.

Thank you Anthony for your valuable suggestions.

Daniel,

I am not sure about the need for links to your Dropbox.

Your profile is what clients look for on Upwork, so it is best if you make your Upwork profile as strong as it can be. Clients on Upwork often prefer not to click links that take them outside of Upwork.

Your profile is set to Private. You must set your profile to Public if you want other freelancers to view it.

Shadzad,

Three dollars an hour tells us you are not very confident in what you do. A rate that low also attracts scammers who will take advantage of you. The solution is counter-intuitive, but you should raise your rate ... right now you are charging less than miniumum wage in the U.S..

Hello Amreen,

See you profile. Please Go> academy Menu and Complete Learning Path & Read carefully and see video. Then you can Understand How you can complete a profile and find a job. See more video tutorial.

Now your profile is not complete. Please update it.

Thank you.

Amreen,

Tell us more about your work experiences and what kinds of problems you know how to solve. The service you have, to put it one way, is as a probem solver for others in the HR area. So, talk about that. Tell clients you understand their problems and tell them what benefits they will see by hiring you.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Michella,

You talk about yourself briefly, but you don't mention your clients. You should write a bit about what types of problems your clients might hire you to solve. If you understand your clients, they will want to hire you. We know you understand yourself. The trick is to understand them as well.

Hi to all,

During my current tenure, I am facing some issues with upwork and not finding the proper work.

Can anyone help me to review my profile?

I need suggestions to improve more as I have no profile views.

How can I improve my profile and how can I get work?

Here is my profile link below.

I would recommend specialising in one thing only. At the moment you seem to be offering a lot of different skills, which is good, but makes your profile all over the place. You advertise yourself as a VA, but your hourly rate is a lot higher than clients pay for a VA, Then you offer a 30 minute finance consultation at double your hourly rate.

I would suggest you do a job search for all your skills, find the category that has the most jobs and specialise in that category. Once you have built up a decent amount of jobs, you can branch out into other skills as well.

Good luck!

Thanks Mr. Shane,

Your suggestions mean a lot to me.
One more thing to suggest, what if I remove my VA tag, will my hourly rate still be okay?

Hi Syed,

Your portfolio and skills list look good, but your overview/summary does not have enough information for clients to understand what you do and how you can help. Sure--they know you are a video editor, but what can you edit and produce? Clients are looking for freelancers who can get results. You must tell them exactly what you can do to get results. In other words, you must focus on the client's needs.

Maybe you can focus more on the client’s needs by answering questions a client might ask. For example:

"My company needs a corporate introduction video. What type of videos can Syed edit?"

I can edit and color grade RAW footage, create and add animated titles and other motion graphics to your corporate videos, explainer videos, social media videos, wedding videos, and others.

"Can Syed provide any recommendations for designing sound/audio for an existing video my company has?"

I go beyond typical video processing by emphasizing quality in every step of the editing process. I can clean up audio, and add sound effects or music to make your videos shine.

"My company is really busy, so how much time will Syed spend developing a video and how often will he stay in contact with me to keep me updated?"

I work quickly, but I do not sacrifice quality. During your video project, I interact with you during each step...

"There are several other video editors out there... why should I choose Syed to edit my videos?"

(...)

Your answers to questions like these can help clients better understand why they should hire you, what they will get, and how it will benefit them.

Mercy,

I think the biggest improvement you can make is to your overview/summary. Remove the first line: "Hello Investors, you are Welcome." because this provides no value to clients. Then correct the grammar in a few places:

As an expert real estate assistant, here is how I can help you:

* Airbnb Arbitrage property finding with access to paid Global Airdna
* Short-Term Rental Management
* Reply to any inquiries about the rentals/ Guest Communication
* Hospitality Management (providing a high level of hospitality and service to Airbnb guests)
* Managing Listing, cleaners, maintenance
* Vacation Rental Optimization; (optimizing Airbnb listings for maximum occupancy and revenue).
* Property Listing Enhancement (Improve property listings to attract more bookings).
* Pricing Strategy(setting competitive and profitable rental prices).
* Cold-calling and setting appointments with home owners, clients.
* Prepare Lease agreement
* Market Research

My plan is to assist you with these services and make your life a little easier. I want to establish a long-term professional relationship by exceeding your expectations in all aspects of my work. Send an invite or a direct message to get started.

For each item in your portfolio, add skill categories. The skill categories in your portfolio work similarly to those in your profile skills list; the skill categories help Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and helps your profile will appear when clients search for those skills.

Hi Martin,

As a freelancer, you must market your services to clients. Clients expect to read a little about your skills and qualifications, but they really want to know how your skills/qualifications will benefit them. You should use your overview/summary to tell clients exactly which services you provide, how you will work with them to provide those services, and how you will help them get results.

Add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.

Add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. This is especially important when the jobs are highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.

Hi everyone :),

My name is Nancy. I'm new to this and would greatly appreciate any tips or ideas anyone can help me with this. Any recommendations would be also appreciated.
Thank you very much

Hi Nancy,

The best tips are probably included in the Academy courses (see links below).

Administrative assistance and data entry are highly competitive skill areas on Upwork, so you must ensure your profile is in great condition. The idea is, clients must be convinced that you are the best freelancer they can choose to meet their requirements.

In your overview/summary, start with a lead-in that tells clients about your experience. Then, immediately tell them which specific services you provide and how you can help them. For example:

I am a highly skilled Adminiatratitve/Data Entry Specialist with _____ years of experience producing accurate data entry that helps businesses stay orgranized, meet their deadlines, and maintain quality standards. I can help you with scheduling, calendar management, entering large amounts of data into spreadsheets or content management systems, records/document coordination, and other administrative support.

Then, make sure your skills list contains skill categories relevant to your work. It is important to keep your skills list updated with relevant skills categories so that Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and so your profile will appear when clients search for your skills.

Since you are new to Upwork, make sure your profile is 100% complete before applying to jobs. The best way to complete your profile is to go through the following Academy Courses and Learning Paths:

Hello Ariany,

Good start to your profile. Here are a couple of suggestions:

1) In your overview/summary, you do a good job of telling clients what you can do. However, I would start your summary with a quick introduction, use your actual skill area instead of only "professional," and add a few blank lines between paragraphs to make the summary easier to read.

Here is an example:

I am a motivated professional Virtual Assistant with experience performing secretarial duties for businesses. I can help you with calendar management (I can set it up for you too); email management (sorting out email and deleting any unnecessary email); travel planning (I can help with the reservations and create an itinerary); bookkeeping (sorting out the invoices and keep it documented), or even with your personal errands if you need it.

If you feel stuck managing every detail of your business like data entry, file maintenance, and scheduling when you should be focusing on the bigger picture, let's discuss how I can assist you. I am adept at multitasking, working independently or as part of a team, and I can help you with the admin tasks so you can focus on your business goals.

Communicate with me so I can offer you the best services I can do.

Let's work together!

2) Add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients, so you want to provide visuals that represent yoru skills/abilities.

Khademul Islam,

It appears that you made a few updates since the review on September 9.

Remove the first two lines from your overview/summary: "Hey there! Nice to meet you.Only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients in searches, which means you have very little space to get their attention. You do not want to waste space with greetings.

Change every occurence of "frontend" to "front-end" (with a dash).

You are still missing important skill categories like Front-End Development and Web Development in your skills list. It is important to keep your skills list updated with relevant skills categories so that Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and so your profile will appear when clients search for your skills.

Hello Mircia,

In your overview/summary, instead of focusing on your skill set, talk about the things you can develop. Clients expect to read a little about your skills and qualifications, but they really want to know how your skills/qualifications will benefit them. Tell clients what types of apps/websites you can build; your process for building apps/sites; how you will work with them to ensure their project runs smoothly; and why they should choose you over other full-stack developers.

You have 15 good skill categories in your skills list, but I think the most important skill category is missing: Full-Stack Development. Since "full-stack development" is part of your title and summary, I recommend adding it to your skills list. You will have to remove a skill category to add Full-Stack Development. It is important to keep your skills list updated with relevant skills categories so that Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and so your profile will appear when clients search for your skills.

Md. Abu Talha,

Remove the first line "Hi" and your personal introduction "My name is Md Abu Talha Ansari." Why? Because only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. This means you have limited space to grab their attention, and you want to use important words in that small space. You don't want to waste any space with a greeting or your name; clients can already see your name on your profile.

You mention "lead generation" in your title and overview/summary, so you need to add it to your skills list. In fact, you need to add Lead Generation, B2B Lead Generation, and LinkedIn Lead Generation. It is important to keep your skills list updated with relevant skills categories so that Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and so your profile will appear when clients search for your skills.

The other areas of your profile look fine.
