Get money From thinking in Hourly Contracts!

Hi,
I'm an Upwork New user,
My career is Motion Graphics Design.
Process of Creating Motion Graphics is a little Complex:

Writing Script
Finding good Ideas to tell The story
Storyboarding
illustrating
animating
and finally adding sounds.

In fixed Price Projects There is no problem, You consider the whole process and offer a bid to Client.

however, in Hourly Payment there is a problem, three first steps (Writing the script, finding ideas and Storyboarding) Is a most thinking and on paper Process, and You don't click or use any program.

So How Can I Convince Client To Pay Me Money When ScreenShots Shows My Desktop With Windows Background!

You may use manually-logged time.

Mr. Preston ,

What if (Manual time disallowed) is disallowed ?

Then you can not use it, obviously.

If the kind of work that you do is not suitable for using the time tracker, you could place an hourly bid but mention your fixed price rate in your proposal. And then if the client is interested in hiring you, you could ask them to re-post the job as a fixed-price contract and invite you. It's not ideal and I hate having to ask, but I've done it quite a few times in the past and no client has ever refused my request.
