Hourlie for a job not related to desktop activity

Hi,
I am new to this platform. Till now, I have only completed 1 fixed price job. I am invited to an hourlie job, but I am not sure how it works especially for a job like a video spokesperson because it will not have desktop activity? And how are we paid in an hourlie..please If someone can help me understand this?

Hi Jyoti,

When you`re hired on an hourly contract, you will need to track your time with our Desktop app so that your client is billed for the time you`ve worked.

So for a job like a spokesperson, will have to track the hours manually right? Bcos there's no such desktop activity involved in this

Yes, freelancers can add manual time/hours as well, but please keep in mind that manual time is not protected under our  Upwork Hourly Protection. Thank you.
