Hourly limit

I am working hourly with a client I have seen the limit is 40hours and I am about to finish this... so my question is when I finish 40 hours Should I ask the client to extend the hours limit or Upwork will do it automatically?

Ask the client to extend. If you work over without them extending you will not be paid.

Keep in mind that the maximum is PER WEEK.

If you used up 40 hours this week, you'll have a new allocation of hours next week. (24 hours from now.)

I typically message clients and tell them they can increase the maximum, or wait until next week for me to continue working.
