How To Save Yourself from Fake Freelancers

Hello Upworkers, I have had some problems in past Because of fake clients, Their Payment Method was Verified, everything looks good. When we start working on their project and work 6 to 10 hours or complete the job then Upwork as it's a fake client and we are investigating it. Even some of my friend's profile was suspended. So is there any way to save yourself from that fake clients? 

I have a suggestion but Please let me know how can I contact anyone from the team who is responsible or in the same department. Thanks

They are not "fake clients" they are "scammers".
