How can I add payment method with my account?

Hello, I'm a beginner freelancer. I recently opened an account and trying to set it up while also reading some articles regarding how I can become successful working at upwork. Few days ago I noticed I couldn't add payment method to my account, do I need to get a contract first before I can add payment method or what?

Hi Henry,

To add a new billing method to your account:

Go to Settings > Billing & Payments
Choose the Add a New Billing Method button
Enter your billing information

Thank you Andrea for your response. Please kindly give me a link to where I can read to learn more about billing and earning because I could see something like monthly membership when I clicked on Payment Card which is the only option available.

In actual sense, I was looking for where I can add my account detail or a payment method in which I could recieve payment if I got any project done

Arjay here stepping in for Andrea. To help you get work with clients through Upwork, you may want to purchase Connects or upgrade to a membership plan. There are several ways to purchase these, you may want to check this help article for the available billing method and here for how to manage on how you get paid. I hope this helps.
