I apologize for the silly question, but how can I tell if my profile has been accepted/approved? I haven't received a confirmation email, yet the reject/resubmit/under approval banner no longer appears.

Your profile has already been accepted, Alexandra Ann, and you should be able to send your proposals for jobs on Upwork. Make sure you go over resources and help articles Vladimir listed here to make sure you get to a successful and safe start on Upwork.
