How do I get my first connects?

I went to go submit my first proposal, and quickly discovered that in order to do so, I needed something called "connects"...

For some reason, I'm not finding any information or indication as to why my account wouldn't have any or how to get or earn them.

Additionally, there appears to be a bug in your system regarding verifying scanned IDs to prove Us location, as I scanned very clear copies of my California state ID in perfect lighting and attempted multiple times yet it returned an error unable to upload or or verify every time

Please go to Setting > Membership&Connects and select one of our plans in order to be able to bid on projects. I can advice you to check out this Thread and learn more about Upwork.
About verifying your location could you try with your driver licence or another ID and let me know if you need further help with this process, thank you!
