If you accept an offer, a fee is NOT taken from you.

You only “pay” a fee if you receive earnings from a client.

If a client ACTUALLY PAYS YOU $100, then Upwork collects 20% and you receive $80.

If a client hires you and promises to pay you $100, then you pay nothing.

A promise doesn’t count.

Upwork does not charge fees based on budgets or promises.

Re: “Is there any milestone system?? Its a hourly project.”

Yes, there is a milestone system, but it is only for fixed-price contracts.

There is no milestone system for hourly contracts.

Its the hourly project. its my doubt. i completed the project. i will send the work to client. but how can i get my money without any ilestone. may be he will cheat me. is there any procedure?? in freelancer.com, milestone payment is available for both (fixed and hourly ) projects. once the client satisfied, he will release the amount.

For hourly projects you have to track time with the Upwork app to be sure you will get paid.

Hi,

what is  Conversion Fee ... i click the check box when i accept offer

its mean i pay extra 12% ?

Hi Ali,

If you are referring to the freelancer fees, you’re charged a sliding fee based on your lifetime billings with each non-Enterprise client. This includes all contracts you’ve ever had with that client. Service fees are the same whether the contracts are hourly or fixed-price.

  • $0-$500: 20%
  • $500.01-$10,000: 10%
  • $10,000.01 or more: 5%
