How to get paid as a Swedish freelancer with local VAT number

Hi there,

I'm a Swedish freelancer with a local VAT number. I'd like to start using Upwork to expand my portfolio but I don't really understand how to report my local tax and how to get paid.

I run my business through an accountant system online. Basically they are the payment reciptients in all my transactions, so my first question is: can Upwork transfer money to a local bank account that isn't in my name? Is it enought that I report what bank account I want to transfer to go to?

Can I download all invoices in a pdf?

Will the invoice state:

* my name/company name

* my customers name/address,VAT

* the amount

* what service I've done

* date

* reference

* VAT amount?

Is there a reference numer on all invoices?

Are the money transferred with the above mentioned reference number?

Appreciate any clarification on this.

Best,

Louise

Hi Louise,

I would suggest you consult with a trusted tax expert or advisor as Upwork cannot provide tax advice. That said, please know that to set up payment to your bank or payment account, you must be listed as an account holder or authorized signer on that account, or demonstrate that you are authorized by the business to do so. The listed name on the account must match your verified name on Upwork.

As for Invoices, all billings on your Transaction Report will have official invoices that can be downloaded or printed. Learn more about the information included here.

Thanks!

Hi Louise,

I have also received the income generated to my Bank Account from Upwork in my Swed Bank Business Account. I am also unable to figure out how I will add them to my Bookio Account System, where I manage my accounts. If you have figured out the way, kindly share it with us here so that we will also add the payment as per the Tax Account.
