I can't proceed in Iphone app

Hello, I'm new to upwork and I just completed as much as I could on my profile. I downloaded the upwork app on my iphone so that I could browse jobs and apply. I am able to browse and favorite jobs but I can't apply. I have a message that says "You can't proceed because of 1 reason" and when I open it up for more information, it just says Select Membership. Do I have to have a paid membership to apply on my app, or apply at all? I'm confused.

Hi Rosa Alicia, 

You will need to choose a membership plan in order to start applying for jobs on Upwork. There are two membership plans available - Freelancer Basic, and Freelancer Plus. You may learn more about it here. Please log in to your account on a desktop computer, or laptop and go this page to be able to choose which plan fits your freelancing needs best.
