My profile is private this situation I'm trying to best, but I can't get my first job even after sending the right proposal.
Please suggest how I can get my first job from Upwork.
Also, guide me on how I show my profile publicly without getting a job or buying connections.
Thanks
Mahananda

So my best advice is to apply for jobs thay require beginner or max intermediate jobs

Sending a good proposal doesn't always mean you get the job. Just like you, others have sent very nice proposals too and mostly likely depending on the client, they'll go for the person with the most qualified profile

1. Be consistent
2. Do smaller or less demanding work than you originally set out to do.
3. So not send long proposals or say that you're new to upwork bc that's already obvious.
4. Seek reviews from clients in the past and have them leave a review for you.
5. Show work in your portfolio section.
6. Try not to have a super extensive profile. Make sure your profile has not only what you do, BUT TELLS THE PROBLEMS YOU SOLVE FOR CLIENTS.
I hope this helps. Goodluck--I'm new here too btw. I am just telling what has been working for me to build my Upwork history.
