Identity and credential verification

Hi,

I have hired a CPA to help me with taxes.  He is great and work is off to a good start.  But, in order to file taxes, he needs my social security number (which is a legitimate need).  I would like to get an idea of UpWork's identity and credential verification process so I can understand if I can trust this person with my information.
