Hi! I'm new to Upwork and just recently created my freelancer account and sent some of my first proposals. I've heard on one of the latest webinars how important it is to manage your profile and add as much work experience as possible to get hired.
Thing is, I'm a recent graduate and have yet to get any work experience. In fact, one of the reasons I joined Upwork was to get some experience as a freelancer, since most companies I contacted for an internship or contract required previous work experience as well. This also means most of my portfolio comes from my previous Masters work and online competitions, such as 11 Second Club.
How would you suggest to make a page more enticing and presentable to someone in my position?

Make up your own project, look at Upwork job posts and do them themself for experience. Once you have a good portfolio you can expect people to notice you.
