Minimun deposit in online casino

Hi, this is my first job and I am not sure if this is legal or not. I want to translate and test a few casino websites. My contractor contacted me offering me to test a few websites daily. I have to register in them with my ID and test if they are avalaible in my country and then translate part of them. A lot of them require a minimun deposit, and my contractor is telling me that one requisite for this job is to have a debit card, so I can pay with it the minimun deposit and then they will give me the refund of it. Suspicious? 

Dont suppose to be the contractor the person that pay the deposit beforehand?Like send me the money so I can use later in the website.

In essence, some guy on the Internet asks you to pay something and says that he'll return the money to you and he says it's a job.

And you are wondering if it's suspicious.

I'm afraid you will end up scammed one of those days...

I will have an hourly pay, the minimun one for starters. And they have added this requisite to the job offer. It is my first time using a platform like this one, so I dont know exactly the conditions here.I will update this with his answer, if they send me the money for the deposit i am fine.

I was checking the security advices, and this contractor seems to be legal, with a verified payment and more than 30k in expenses.

the online casino thing is not a real job. It is just someone trying to trick you and steal your money.

It is clear that you already know that.

But for any newbies reading this thread, I though I would make sure It is clear that this particular offer is a scam.

Yes, Manuel, as you already point out, if a real client was going to hire you, he would not require you to use your own credit card to pay money for things with the "promise" that he will pay you back.

Well..if you take the job, you will find soon if you got scammed.

Maybe he owns the sites, and you give him your card details to register...or you do some kind of money laundring, since you get paid for the job by using your money, in return for his money...maybe I'm just paranoid.

Yes, Its has to be totally an scam offer. I was too focused thinking on testing the site and reporting bug to them, this was something new that they just added today.

You were smart to be suspicious. And you were wise to confirm your suspicions.

You didn't spend any money on this joker.

If I was a client who wanted you to test something, I would give you credentials to pre-paid accounts, so you wouldn't need to pay anything to test my sites. Or I would send you funds via Upwork's "pay expenses" tool, and you would have those funds before you ever needed to spend any money of your own.
