I regard the mobile app as a toy, or a "work in progress." It is gradually improving. But if you encounter problems, you should just assume that the app itself is buggy or limited. It isn't your responsibility to fix it. I wouldn't even report problems right now. Upwork knows it still needs work.
Use the web application for serious work.
