New and Expert

Hi, i am new to upwork but i have several years working as a graphic designer and as am illustrator so i set my profile as an expert freelancer. My question is if this is contradictory for clients?

Also i would like to ask for any advice on how to start. I have seen that almost every job posted requires a 90% of job success score so i really dont know how to get my first job.

Thanks everyone!

As someone new to Upwork, you basically ignore the JSS requirement and apply to the jobs you can do. Some clients are willing to overlook your not having a JSS score and some don't even realize they have that requirement set on their job post.

If you are an expert at what you do, but new to UpWork, go ahead and advertise yourself/"bill" yourself as an expert. If you were, say, a surgeon with 20 years of experience, you wouldn't move to a new town and then limit yourself to easy cases just because you were the "new guy," right?
