I just joined Upwork. I am residing in Toronto, Canada. I would want to use an upgraded membership plan however, I am a bit skeptical as I am not sure if I will be able to get work from other places residing in Canada. I understand most remote jobs have juridictional requirements. Kindly advise.

You can accept jobs from anywhere, that is the primary purpose of Upwork, it is a secure way to get paid for freelancers, make sure you accept a contract before start working on any job from clients, also there are several ways to transfer your money to your hand.
