Hello! So I submitted a proposal for a contract and was contacted via messages. The lady told me I was best fit for the job and began asking me questions. Now she has sent me her phone number to contact her outside of upwork. She told me the website for her company is currently under construction but gave me the name. I’m a little skeptical. Something just seems off.

If you were deceived or the client simply left after completing the work Upwork will not give you any guarantees that your wasted time will be paid. Even if you have discussed all the details and trust each other you cannot prove that you really worked with this person.

• So you should carry out any instructions, conditions, editing and payment exclusively within the UPwork system.
• A reliable employer may verify personal identity and payment method, have a good reviews and a positive rating.
