Not receiving connects as a new account

Hi there! I created an Upwork account on July 10th, 2024, and I haven't received any connects since then. I have checked my Connects History and there's still nothing. I would be so grateful if you could help me with this issue. Thank you!

Upwork currently requires new freelancers to do one of two things before being able to submit a proposal for a job: subscribe to our Freelancer Plus membership plan for $20 USD a month, or purchase 100 Connects for $15 USD. After you fulfill this requirement you will also receive 50 free Connects to further help you get started on Upwork.

Hi, I just joined in and I am still learning the ropes of Upwork. When I checked my profile, I had 0 connects. I thought newcomers were given free 10 connects (and in the subsequent months). I am contemplating buying the 100 connects for $15, but I have a question. Is it a one-time thing, or will I be charged $15 monthly for the 100 connects?

Since you signed up today, next month you'll receive free connects, which will count as your first month. The free connects are given monthly, totaling 10 connects. Your $15 purchase, however, is a one-time deal and not recurring monthly. Once you've spent $15 on connects, you can then purchase additional ones for $1.50, which gives you 10 connects, as long as it's below $15. It's up to you whether you want to spend less than $15 initially; $15 is just the first purchase amount, and subsequent purchases can be lower.

I didn't receive my monthly free connects even though it's been 24 hours since my billing cycle started. I also didn't get the 50 free connects when I opened my account.

Why all of you answer with the same thing like yea we get it but explain then? we don't get free connections unless we pay first 15$ or 20$ for whatever plan ? so we won't recieve any connections because we just signed up on upwork right?

I recently signed up as a new freelancer on Upwork and am eager to start applying for jobs on the platform. However, I have noticed that I have not yet received the initial 50 connects that are typically provided to new freelancers to help them get started.

Could you please assist me in understanding why I have not received these connects?

Hi,

There are NO more free connects. You need to purchase them or subscribe for a Freelancer Plus membership, and then Upwork will add 50 on top. You need to study how the platform operates. Use the "Academy" tab above.

Also as a reminder, your profile must represent you as an individual and that all the information in your profile including your profile photo needs to be accurate, truthful, and verifiable. Your profile photo should be a clear, headshot-style photo of you which is cropped from the top of your head, and just below your shoulders, and -

• you are not wearing sunglasses in the photo;
• it is not a logo or clip-art;
• it is not a group photo;
• the photo was not digitally-altered

Upwork now requires new freelancers to subscribe to Freelancer Plus for $20 USD/month or purchase 100 Connects for $15 USD to submit their first proposal. After you fulfill this requirement, you will also get the 50 free Connects that freelancers traditionally receive when signing up.
