Not receiving connects as a new account

Hi there! I created an Upwork account on July 10th, 2024, and I haven't received any connects since then. I have checked my Connects History and there's still nothing. I would be so grateful if you could help me with this issue. Thank you!

Upwork requires new freelancers to subscribe to Freelancer Plus for $20 USD/month or purchase 100 Connects for $15 USD to submit their first proposal. After you fulfill this requirement, you will also get the 50 free Connects that freelancers traditionally receive when signing up.

I can't figure out why Upwork doesn't inform newcomers of the requirement. A simple pop-up banner or announcement (in bright red, purple or any color) at the top of each new profile will suffice.

I'm certain thousands of newly created accounts are being abandoned as soon as newcomers realize they must pay to submit their first proposal and receive the 50 free Connects.

I recently created a new account on Upwork and was expecting to receive 50 initial connects as part of the basic plan. However, it has been over 48 hours since I created my account, and I have not received these connects yet.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Could someone please advise me on what steps I should take to resolve this, or if there is anything I might need to do to receive the connects?

To clarify, Upwork currently requires new freelancers to do one of two things before being able to submit a proposal for a job: subscribe to our Freelancer Plus membership plan for $19.99 USD a month, or purchase Connects. After you fulfill this requirement you will also receive 50 free Connects to further help you get started on Upwork.
