Not receiving connects as a new account

Hello, Everyone!

A friend suggested I create an upwork account to Jumpstart my freelancing career. He mentioned that I should have free connectes upon joining for me to bid on contracts. After completing my account, I have 0 connect credits. Is there anything else I need to do?

Upwork currently requires new freelancers to do one of two things before being able to submit a proposal for a job: subscribe to our Freelancer Plus membership plan for $19.99 USD a month, or purchase Connects. After you fulfill this requirement you will also receive 50 free Connects to further help you get started on Upwork.

1. You cannot create new account each time you need more free connects. All your bots will be banned.

2. No more free connects for new bots.

You need to buy 100 connects (or FL plus) then. 50 "free" will be assigned after that.

It works once for new user.

Is there a way to get my free connects without paying just yet, since i just started if i get jobs from there i'll be able to fund my next connects.

Sometime Upwork can send promocode at email. You can wait, just for luck.

videos at upwork, we provide a 10 free connects to every account creator in
every month, I haven't receive any single connect yet, anybody tell or help
me to how generate or got him it.

You need to buy Connects first. After, you will get free Connects.

I am new freelancer with zero connects. Trying to upgrade my Freelnacer Plus Plan but can not proceed without Promo code. How to get one? How to proceed? Stuck since two weeks.

I'd like to clarify that Promo code is optional and not required when purchasing Connects or upgrading your membership. You can leave the Promo code blank and proceed in purchasing Connects or membership. You can learn more by visiting this helpful page.

Hi Upwork team, I am a new member and I have created my account on September 29. However, I don't have any free connects yet and I verified my email and received an email from Upwork that my profile is ready and approved. 

Could someone please take a look into this? Would apprecciate it! Thank you!

Hi Suzana. 

There is no anymore free connects upon signing for Upwrok. You need to purchase them or to subscribe for the Plus membership.
