 Hi,
I don't understand how I invoice my client - can you help?

I have done 46$ of work and I have set up my payment details but I can't see whether my client has paid. Did I miss a step?

Thanks,

Suzanne

hi Suzanne, did you click "submit work-request payment"?

Suzanne,

If it was a fixed-rate job then it should have been set up as a formal contract through Upwork with a milestone and  the agreed amount paid into escrow, and all you need do, if you have delivered the work is to request payment as Corinne suggested.

Once this is done you can track the payment if you go to "Reports" at the top of your page.  The client has fourteen days in which to review your work and to approve payment. If the client does nothing then you will be paid automatically.

Looks like you missed several Smiley Wink

First things first:

  1. Do you see a CONTRACT when you go to your My Jobs page?
  2. If you DO see a job, is it fixed rate or hourly?
  3. If hourly, did you track your time?
  4. If fixed rate, was it fully funded, and did you submit the work using the "Submit Work and Request Payment" button on the contract?
  5. When you go to your Reports Overview page, do you see any amounts under any of the tabs?
