Is safe receive payments outside UpWork?

Or should we receive only by UpWork?

When you came on to the platform, you agreed to the Terms of Service, including payment MUST be through the platform.  Go no further until you read the information on how the platform works.

When clients try to pull you off of the platform it's never a good sign. If they're not willing to work here and to keep things accountable then it is very unlikely to be a productive contract. If they try to justify going off-platform because of a surcharge or tax they have to pay to Upwork, again that's not a good sign. That means they'll be dishonest with you too. As hard it is, I advise continuing the search for legit clients instead.
