Penname/Pseudonym Bank Troubles?

Hello again! Thank you so much for all of your help, I hope this will be the last question I need to ask today 🙂 I'm having some trouble on here because the name I wish to present as my freelance name (Quinn Clark) is not the same as my legal name/the name my bank has (Megan Clark). I'm not intending on legally changing my name anytime soon but I have been going by Quinn as a writer for some time, and I would prefer to keep it that way. Is there any way to verify that one is a penname, or must I use my legal name on my freelancer profile?

Hi Quinn,

Please keep in mind that your Upwork name needs to be your full legal name. I would suggest submitting a name change request and once it's approved our team will be able to approve your payment method. Thank you.

You can mention your pen name in your profile overview text. And when you talk to clients, you can say:

"Please call me Quinn."

You don't need to have your pen name be your official profile name.
