Phone verfication

Hi, I am trying to complete my registration on Upwork and my phone verfication OTP is not coming through.  I am a US citizen but am temporarily residing in Mumbai, India.  The country code of +1 (for US vs the 011 I need for my India phone number) is inserted by default in my profile info.  It is locked so that I can't change it.  Could someone please assist?  Much thanks.

Hi, You can change your contact info Profile - > Settings -> Location -> Phone

Hi, thanks Toorsol. Unfortunately, the "+1" is locked, grey, and will not allow me to change it to "011", edit it (the rest of the number I can change though). I see on the chats that others have had similar problems, registering newly with Upwork, as Americans but living abroad. But I do not see how any have gotten it resolved. ?? Thanks
