Proposal owner history

I have a proposal from prospective client. I am new to this community, I was wondering how can I learn or read about the history of the client? Is it possible?

Thanks

Hello Nita,

Thank you for your message. While we do take steps to verify that clients who join Upwork are who they say they are and take action when we learn a user is not following our Terms of Service (TOS), we are not able to guarantee that the information a client provides in their post is true or accurate. Please remember you are not obligated to accept a project with a client you don’t feel comfortable with. You should take any steps you feel are appropriate to vet your clients and their projects before agreeing to a contract. Based on discussions with freelancers, we do find that feedback given on a client’s account can be helpful in vetting a client.

Additionally, freelancers can also view a client's hiring history, and billing method status at the bottom of their job posts. If the client doesn't have a verified billing method, check out this help article for guidance on how to proceed.

Yes , it is possible. You can see in the bottom part of the job posting the " Client's recent history "

Thanks Ivygail.
Is their a article on how to use zoom meeting? This client wants to use skype and seems like it is his first project so I couldn't find any history. I am looking for a break but at the same time not very comfortable.

Hi Nita,

This is Ronna, stepping in for Ivygail. Upwork Messages have built-in video and voice call service via Zoom, with screen sharing capability. You can visit these helpful pages for your complete guide and more information:

Asking to meet on Skype is usually a sign that you're dealing with a scammer. Also, new freelancers don't usually get invitations out of the blue from legit clients, so that's another red flag. Read this: Top Red Flags for Scams: From Community Membe... - Upwork Community

Keep in mind that even if the client tells you their name and company name, they could be lying. Upwork doesn't verify clients' identities. Any contract that a scammer might send you is also worthless.
