Propose a new contract for remaining payment

I have a client who deposited half of the budget for the job. I submitted my work and he paid the milestone. After that, he ended the contract without getting the full amount as we discussed. I message him how can I get half of the payment. He replied, and I think the client has no idea that he thought he deposited half of the payment. I am still waiting for his reply. Should I wait or I will propose a new contract to remind him of the remaining payment?

You really DO NOT NEED a new contract.

A client can use the client-side "Give bonus" tool to pay a freelancer any amount of money.

Even on a closed contract.

I think the client knows very well how this works.

Stiffy:
I wish you well.

But please understand that you set things up incorrectly and you used the fixed-price contract model incorrectly.

If this client pays you more money, that's great. But he is not obligated to.

It is on the "honor system."

In the future, remember:

Only work on funded milestones.

The budget doesn't matter.

Only money in escrow matters.

If $100 is in escrow, then do $100 worth of work. Not $200.
