Providing VAT-number (Finland)

I'm a citizen of Finland (EU) and I have a Finnish VAT-number that is 12 digits long. You require VAT that 8 digits long. What should I do?

I would recommend consulting your self with a local specialist about this. I would also like to confirm that we can only validate VAT numbers in the format on the VIES database website.
