Referring a client to a Project from a Proposal - against TOS?

Hello. I'm very new to Upwork but I've recently tried out the (new?) Projects feature. I have a project currently under review, and in the meantime I've been seeing several job offers on the main feed that align pretty much exactly with that project.

My question is: Is there a policy against simply directing the client to one of your Projects from the Proposal, if the Project has all the details + pricing to solve their problem? I know I can direct link to the Project once it's approved. But I'm not sure how the payment/tracking systems overlap for those two features. Should I just keep Proposals and Projects completely separate?

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your message. Yes, you can direct your client to one of your Project Catalogs on the proposals as long as they do not include any direct contact information on them. You'll be notified whenever the client purchases your project and a contract room will automatically be opened, at which point you can start messaging. The next step is waiting for the client to provide requirements to you. When they do, the due date gets set and the "clock" starts for you.
