Search engine error/inaccuracy.

I'm a landscape designer--I draw landscape design plans for clients. When I search 'landscape design' I get 29 postings about 'photography'. Not helpful! That is totally a wrong result!

The job feed is notoriously bad. However, the algorithm is probably confused because you make no mention of landscape design in your general profile, which is your specialty. In your two specialist profiles you only mention landscape design in one. This is also a very specialized niche so there are probably not that many jobs anyway that match your skills.

I think you should give less importance to your editing and writing skills in your general profile, and then make landscape design your first specialist subject.

One of the ways round this unsatisfactory job feed is go to job search and use the filters.

(ETA: I get suggestions for website development, video editing, proofreading in Chinese, VA, data entry, you mention it - rarely anything to do with my skills and when they do match they are at entry level and the budget is way below any acceptable rates!! ;))

I have used the filters for every search I've done! Even putting 'landscape design' in the search bar with filters on, I get 29 photography job listings. I understand that landscape design is a very specialized niche and many don't realize it can be done long distance so the number of jobs is low. I expect to need to fill in with income from editing and proofreading. I'll add more landscape to my general profile, but I thought that was the purpose of the specialized profiles. I thought each specialty profile was focused on only one area and with specialty profiles in place ppl would be referred to that profile for landscape jobs. In fact when I've submitted proposals on landscape design jobs, I get a pop up from Up Works saying they are going to use my landscape specialty profile.

I suspect another problem is that Up Works put in the category of 'Content Writing' on one of my specialty profiles. That is not my area of expertise, but I can't seem to change it. That category turns up much SEO and website work and I'm not proficient in area yet. It is a drop down menu with very few choices and none of them are editing or proofreading. How can I make it fit my skills better with a category of proofreading/editing?
