Searching for more jobs when I have some pending? What is the etiquette on this?

I've sent out some queries and gotten a few replies, but nothing firmed up yet. I am thinking of applying for more jobs while waiting. Maybe 10 at a go?

What is the etiquette for this? Is it permissable? Professionally I never accept more than 2-3 contracts at one time since doing too much affects my performance unduly.

Keep applying. It is "first come, first serve" so if those potential clients wait too long and your schedule fills up, too bad.

Especially while you are starting out it may take a while before you actually win a job.

Until you are hired nothing is set in stone, and just accepting 2 or 3 contracts at any time will hold you back, anyway.
