Should I ask my client to give his c-panel username and password?

Hello everyone,

I am a web developer. My question is should I ask my client to give his c-panel username and password to host the site?

Please help.

Thanks.

Bazlur, this is not an Upwork question. Upwork does not care how you do this. Upwork has no rules about this.

You may indeed ask clients to provide cpanel credentials. Or do what I typically do: set up web hosting accounts and I provide cpanel credentials to the client.

You can create dev sites to do your work and provide files to the client to install himself on a live site, without you ever receiving cpanel credentials.

There are many ways to work on this sort of thing. Most clients don't know or care about these details and will want you to handle these details yourself.
