Struggling to get more clients

Hi, can someone help me find a solution or tell me it is normal please? I hit the ground running in my first two weeks of upwork and gained 5 jobs... all have given 5 star reviews. But recently I can't seem to get a single view on my proposals. It's just crickets! 
Also, the quality of jobs I've been seeing are really bad. The majority of my search is non verified, 0 hires and tbh most look like scams. I have changed my search setting but there is barely anything. Anyone know where I am going wrong? I feel like I'm wasting connects just so I stay active.
