Suspended Contract While Pending Review

Hello all,

I had submitted my deliverables for a fixed-price contract and while I am waiting for the client to review and approve the work, the contract went into paused/suspended status. Since the funds are already in escrow, can they still be released to me once approved? Also if the 14 day period lapses without approval from client, does the contact automatically get paid out?

It depends why the contract was paused/suspended. Upwork will let you know.

No they don't tell you why a contract is suspended. It's usually the client's credit card.

Hey Ryan,

Every once in a while this is due to something mundane like a client's credit card expiring. If the funds are in escrow, they should be released at the end of the 14-day period with no action necessary from the client.

You might send them a short follow-up message just to ask if they've been able to look over the work you've submitted.
