Tax Information

So I've been hired for my first job and signed off on the contract. I have a few questions regarding tax information...

1. Can I have my pay deposited before I fill this out? Aka can I get paid?

2. Do you have to make $600 before filling this out or do you wait till after you reach that point?

And 3. What in the world am I supposed to choose for federal tax identification?? 

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I've never filled out a W-9 before, only W-2's. Thanks friends!

You can learn all about the Form W-9 on Upwork here. You will need to add this information in the Tax Information section of your Settings in order for any payment methods to be active. The directions are the same as filling out the paper Form W-9 form from the IRS. We recommend that you contact your local accountant or tax advisor if you have questions about your filing status or TIN.
