I just wanted to know if I should spend a significant amount of time sitting the tests on upwork. I did 3 so far. Should I do more. How effective are they for getting an invitation?

Tests are one of the ways to showcase your skills and make your profile more complete. It's advisable that you at least take tests related to main skills you list on your profile.
