  1. Suggestions:
  2. Revise your proposals to make them more compelling/tailored to the specific needs of your future potential clients.
  3. Look in the job searches find key words that your potential clients list in their job requirement section
  4. Reach out to future clients showcasing your skills and expertise to increase your chances of winning the project (job).

I don't really have tips, but I opened Upwork since January till now, I haven't been able to secure any job, I've gone through some of the Upwork academy courses, done the right things yet no job. Most at times my profile will be set private. Please Upwork team help me set my profile public and equally help me secure my first job.

Best regards.

Hello Favour,

Perhaps Favour you might have to write easier direct  sentences. Most of the clients use Algorythms to discover freelancers with SEO key word search options. Are you sure you have done the correct things step by step -reviewed with Upwork representatives in the threads such as 'Hugo' in the 'Welcome to Upwork thread?'

If your profile is set at 'Private' - this means you have not paid Upwork the connects to be 'active' and live to be searching for a job (project). Good Luck.

Hi Naeed,

Here are some tips on how to get started on Upwork:
  • Complete your profile: Take time to provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your skills. This will help clients find you and determine if you're a good fit for their projects.
  • Add your portfolio to your Upwork profile: If you have work samples and past projects, add them to your Upwork portfolio. It gives clients an idea of your skills and experience.
  • Propose your services: Browse through the projects in the marketplace and apply for projects that interest you and align with your skills. Your proposal should include your experience and skills and why you're a good fit for the project.
Check out these Upwork Academy courses to kickstart your journey:
Remember that getting hired as a freelancer on Upwork can be competitive, so it’s important to have a strong profile and portfolio and submit well-written proposals.

Good luck!

Kindly explain the project catalogs

Hi Naveed,

Thank you for reaching out and raising this query. Project Catalog is where you let clients come to you. When you create a project, it displays as a listing that clients can open to learn more. Clients find you by searching for the skills and services you offer. Prospective clients can easily browse projects, discover the details, message you with questions, and start working with you—all directly from your project.

You can learn more about Project Catalog in this help article to help you decide if creating one fits your interests.

Hello there,

I'm finding it hard to get views on my profile. I've implemented quite a number of suggestions, such as; turning on the availability badge, suggestions from Upwork academy, sending job proposals while following suggestions from Upwork academy on creating proposals that win works (very informative).

I've been really patient, but I've seen little to no progress. Are there other suggestions I can implement or corrections I can make? I believe if my profile is been viewed enough, I'll eventually start getting steady jobs.

Hoping to get a response,

Jordan.
