Unable to respond to invitation I received

Hi,

I received an invitation for interview/proposal, but there's no way for me to respond, it does not show up in my message inbox and there isn't a button for me to click to respond or submit a proposal or anything? 

I am new to Upwork, so just want to make sure I am not missing something, as I also do not want to offend the sender.  Please assist.

I recv the invite at 4:53, so the sender closed the job less than an hour later?

Michael, the job was probably removed because it was a scam; it's extremely rare for a new freelancer like yourself to get any invitations from legitimate clients. I recommend making improvements to your profile and adding samples of your work if you want to attract clients who aren't scammers.
