Upwork Account attached to my email address

I have never made an account on Upwork before. I tried to do so today (Aug 8, 2020) and was told there was already an account attached to my email.

I changed the password to this account by using my email but I'm worried someone used my email to make an account somehow.

Hi Jack,

Are you referring to this account you're using to post here in the Community? Please, note that in order to sign up for an account on Upwork with an email address a person would need to have access to that email to be able to receive and follow a verification link.
